We are not a visa factory.
We take on a small number of matters at a time and give each one the patient attention it requires. If your case is straightforward, we will tell you so and help you proceed without unnecessary fuss. If it is difficult, we will tell you that too — and walk through it with you.
Where we focus.
Skilled Regional (491 → 191)
The two-stage pathway through regional Australia. Points strategy, state nomination, lodgement, and the eventual transition to permanent residence.
A small number of practice areas, handled deliberately. If your matter is not listed here, please ask — we will either help directly or refer you to a colleague who can.
Australian Citizenship
The final step in your journey. We prepare conferral applications, manage document compilation, and support you through the test and interview.
Family & Partner
Partner visas, parent visas, and other family-stream matters — handled with the discretion these cases ask for.
Business Innovation & Investment (888)
The permanent stage of the 188 pathway. Stream-specific evidence, business and real estate documentation, and careful preparation for lodgement.
Why a boutique practice.
Boutique by design
Migration is not commodity work. We deliberately keep our caseload small so that every matter is handled personally by your registered agent — not passed to a junior, an offshore team, or a chatbot.
Built for the long matter
Migration is rarely a single application. The pathway to citizenship typically spans four years; the 491 to 191 transition runs five. We are built for that arc — same agent, same file, from your first consultation through to your citizenship ceremony, and available for the questions that come up in the years between filings.
Honest counsel
We will tell you what we believe your case actually looks like — including the parts you may not want to hear. If we cannot help, we will say so before you have paid us. The Code of Conduct requires this. We believe it anyway.
How we work.
01 — Initial consultation
A paid consultation (typically 45 to 60 minutes) in person at our Mernda office or via video. We discuss your circumstances, identify the visa pathways realistically open to you, and outline likely timeframes, evidence requirements, and fees. You leave with a clear written summary, whether or not you choose to proceed with us.
02 — Strategy and preparation
If we proceed, we issue a written agreement covering scope, fees, and timeframes. We then build your evidence file together — checklists, document review, drafting of statements, and quality control before anything is lodged.
03 — Lodgement and support
We lodge through ImmiAccount, monitor processing, respond to Departmental requests on your behalf, and keep you informed at every stage. After the decision, we remain available for the questions that come up later — visa label requests, work entitlements, the path to citizenship.
Migration law is, in the end, the work of attending carefully to one family’s life at a time.
Mantra Migration Services is a boutique practice based in Mernda, Victoria. Every matter is handled directly by the registered agent — not delegated to a junior, an offshore back office, or an automated form. The practice was established to give complex migration matters the time and patience they require, and to do that work to the standard the Code of Conduct asks of us.
Frequently asked, briefly.
-
Not legally. You can lodge most applications yourself. Whether you should engage an agent is a separate question, and depends on the complexity of your matter, your tolerance for procedural risk, and the cost of getting it wrong.
-
For most standard matters, yes. We provide a written fee agreement before any work begins. Where the scope is genuinely uncertain (review applications, complex compliance histories), we may quote on an hourly basis with an estimated cap.
-
No. No registered migration agent can — and any agent who claims to is in breach of the Code of Conduct. What we can do is give you an honest assessment of your prospects and prepare your application to the highest standard available to it.
-
Processing times are set by the Department of Home Affairs and vary by visa subclass and individual circumstances. We share the current published timeframes at consultation, but we cannot influence them. Be cautious of any agent who claims they can.
